Story behind the sketch (Part 6) - Marita,1973.

There is a little puzzle in this Pen and Ink/ Wash sketch that I did in 1973.  In September of 1973, I was at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Pulau Pinang doing my last year of studies in the Humanities.  It was a busy year as I was working very hard to obtain the best results in all my assignments and examinations.  But occasionally one girl who was my junior used to accompany me to go visiting places around Penang and doing a little shopping together.

Despite the hectic and heavy schedule we would find time to be together and knowing her made more happy with my studies and about girls in particular.  On the 23 September,1973 I did this sketch to remember her.  The little puzzle is about to be answered.  Look at bottom left hand of the sketch and there I wrote her name ~ Marita. After leaving the university, we never see each other again.  But memories of her is so clear as in the sketch.
